Why look within?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 23, 2009:
We can discover a part of ourselves that is less shaped by the expectations of others and more shaped by the spirit of God and our own thoughts and dreams.
We don't completely filter out what we've learned/gotten conditioned by outer influences, but we don't need to lose ourselves and our communication with God when we focus outside ourselves, either, so it all balances out so that thinking from within has a more spiritual feel to it while thinking from without is a kind of reaction to how life comes at us.
