Describe a dream of yours that's come true.

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 28, 2007:
Pictured above is my partner-in-crime! LOL Get to know this special man, because he's making a wonderful difference in the lives of homeless/at-risk teens and children!
My dream is for him to truly become one of America's Most Wanted, because he's an inspiration and motivator--one who's needed when it comes to lighting a fire under people to take off the blinders, take their heads out of the sand, wake up and smell the coffee, and start becoming part of the solution!
I went into the year 2007 with this kind of New Year's Resolution in mind: to put together a dream team to help the most helpless members of society who were falling through the cracks.
At the time, I had nothing specific in mind--just marginalized people in general--and I didn't even have a lot of thoughts on how this would be done in mind.
What I was mostly thinking of was getting together a bunch of writers to where we would push to have these issues discussed at various writing sites such as Epinions, Writing, Judy's Book, Duno, MyLot, etc.
What actually happened would be something that would make having a dream come true an understatement!

Speaking as member of society that did fall threw the cracks and has overcome many obstacles: I am so happy to find someone who wants to help be part of the solution for a growing crisis. I have been meditating on finding like minds to help make a difference and possibly help to bring about the change needed. Most helpless members need is hope and a possible path to go to bring about the change they are desperately seeking; not a hand out but a hand outreaching to hold onto as you pull yourself out that gives support (emotional) and helps in whatever way possible. For me i have been for the last seven years donating clothing, food and rides (the individual pays for gas nothing else) to the store or doctors. thank you for offering suggestions of places to go to help bring additional change.
