About what are you most judgmental?

Posted on Sep 12th, 2007 by AJ : Little Miss Chit-Chat LOL AJ
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 12, 2007:

I'm most judgmental of people who are judgmental.

Examples:

  • When Maury sics his Roman Empire arena audience onto troubled children before finally sending these kids to an inhumane boot-camp.
  • Boo lines that form when somebody gets arrested for something.
  • Look at how that Jennifer Wilbanks was treated for having a breakdown before a wedding that she had been pressured into by Southern Belle society.
  • Of course, it gets REALLY ugly when people end up killing in the name of Jesus/God/Allah/etc.--and some people even do things that are REALLY warped in the name of Jesus/God/Allah/etc.  I read the sickening story of this little girl who was molested by her father and brother, and they were both telling her that allowing them to have their way with her was in accordance with what Jesus wanted her to do.
We need to quit doing so much finger-pointing and do more hand-extending...

When I feel judgements rising within, I try to slow my thoughts and imagine walking in the others shoes for a  long while. I was once asked to write a poem about something that repelled me and I chose to look at paedophiles and though I don't condone, what they do and would do anything to protect all children, I at least have more understanding. I used to work as a nurse and once had to report a case of abuse to protect a child, it transpired that the abuse had followed through generations the abused becoming the abuser. We need to try and understand to break the cycle, judgements don't help. Here is the poem I wrote……

Plastic Dolls

Imagine three dolls,
one glass, one plastic
and one of steel.
Given identical blows
the glass doll shatters,
the plastic doll
receives a large dent
the steel doll is unaffected.

I'm the plastic doll,

Father was the hammer.
I was 8 when his tirade
smashed my world, I knew
I'd never be the same again.

Mother hated me from birth,
lashed me with her tongue
used every opportunity
to show me how much
I was despised

When Father was drunk
and incapable,she toyed
with her plastic doll
There was no affection -
and no escape. She stirred
a seething cauldron
of sex and hate,

it bubbles to the surface,
and I can't slam the lid down.
it overflows - I wank and fantasize -

bitch, I want to throttle her
fuck you. Fuck up mother

I watch this little girl,
she's plastic, her skin is fair,
limbs delicate, she has red hair -
like mother's,

These feelings still rise within at times, when they do this is a helpful exercise.
